In-Person Mobility Training in Ellicott City, Maryland

Virtual Coaching Available Nationwide

Move better. Feel stronger. Build joints that last.

Most tightness is not a flexibility problem, it’s a control problem. Control is the ability to create tension and own a position — which tells the body it is safe to move there. If you don't have control in a position, your body restricts access because it doesn’t trust movement there. Control is what most people are actually missing when they think they need more strength. I help people improve joint control, reduce stiffness, and move with more confidence and ease through mobility-focused personal training and Kinstretch classes.

Not just passive or assisted stretching, but better control and ownership, better movement and awareness, and stronger — more resilient joints.

This is for you if:

- You feel tight

- Stretching hasn’t given you lasting results

- You’ve done physical therapy but something still feels off

- Movement and exercise feels harder than it should

- You want to stay active as you get older

- You’re not ready to give up the things you enjoy

- You want to do everything you can to avoid surgery

Feedback

“After my total knee replacement, I wasn’t regaining range of motion despite completing standard PT. Pat’s thoughtful, highly personalized approach addressed not just my knee, but my foot, ankle, and hip mobility as well. My range of motion has improved in both knees, and every session is carefully planned and effective. Pat and Kinstretch have truly been a game changer for me.”

- Joyce W.

“Living with scoliosis caused years of pain and stiffness, and I wanted to avoid back surgery. Working with Pat and Kinstretch gradually improved my mobility, reduced pain, and even led to a 5+ degree reduction in my spinal curvature — something my doctors said is rare. Pat’s personalized, thoughtful approach truly changed my health and how my body moves.”
- Christina M.

Mission:

Movement is the foundation of independence.

We teach you how to control your joints, not just stretch them.

That’s how you build strength, coordination, and a body that actually works in real life.

Hi, I’m Pat Forester.

I’m an FRC/FRA-certified mobility specialist, Kinstretch instructor, and personal trainer with 15+ years of experience helping people move better and stay active long-term. My approach is built around joint-specific training, helping you understand what your body is doing, improve how it moves, and build lasting control. Whether you’re just getting started, coming back from injury, or looking to maintain independence as you age, the goal is the same: Better movement you can actually use.

Functional+Range+Assessment.jpg

The Functional Range Assessment (FRA) is where we start.

It’s a one-on-one session where we look at how your joints actually move, and more importantly, how much active control you have over that movement.

Many people can achieve flexibility in positions, but they can’t move with strength in and out of them. That’s where compensation shows up.

During the FRA, we assess your active range of motion to find:

  • where you’re limited

  • where you’re compensating

  • and where you’re relying on the wrong areas to do the work

1-on-1 Training

This is where the real progress is made.

After your assessment, we build a plan based on what your body actually needs.

The focus is to:
Improve control, reduce compensation, and build strength where you’re weakest.

Kinstretch® is not stretching, it’s active mobility training.

We use slow, deliberate movements to help you own your range of motion. Because if you can’t control it, your body won’t use it.

It’s about learning how to feel what’s happening inside your own body, and building awareness through repetition.

“Kinstretch has been a catalyst for me to take action on maintaining maximum mobility as I age. Pat is an excellent coach who explains the exercises clearly and demonstrates them with options for modifications to make the class accessible for all.”
— Sydney W.

“Since attending Kinstretch for about 2 years, my range of motion has improved, it's made it easier to keep active, along with my overall wellbeing. I appreciate Pat's dedication and obvious caring/motivation for all participants, as well as the information he shares about what we're doing and why we're doing it.”

—Denise Z.

“Patrick has a way of explaining the movements as well as the importance and purpose for this training that is easy to understand and apply in my daily routine. It is a form of training that I have not seen anywhere else and I tell everyone I know how much I value it.”
—Linda B.
